Booster and Dude Perfect Celebrate Their Partnership with a Giveaway
to Meet the Dudes in Frisco, TX

ATLANTA—October 2, 2023— Booster, the leading company for school fundraising, is thrilled to announce a giveaway to celebrate its collaboration with YouTube trick shot stars, Dude Perfect. Beginning October 2 through October 27, fans will have the opportunity to enter to win a trip to the Dude Perfect Headquarters in Frisco, Texas, to experience the magic behind their legendary videos.

Three lucky winning families will receive the exclusive opportunity to tour the Dude Perfect headquarters this January and meet the Dudes themselves. Winners will also receive travel costs up to $2,500, a two-night stay at a nearby hotel and additional special surprises.

Despite decades of running the same event, which the students loved participating in, when Bill became the PTA president he saw just how labor intensive the fundraiser was and that it didn’t produce that big of a return in funds. So one of his first orders of business was to look at companies that could make their job easier. Booster stood out among the competition, primarily because of the online platform.

“The MyBooster platform has completely changed our ability and the ceiling for what we could provide to the school because it allows us now to generate a lot more money…because of how great the platform is at organizing information,” said Bill.

The PTA’s goal was to provide five or six classrooms with new interactive display boards. Because of their successful fundraiser with Booster, they were able to provide displays for every single room in the school, something they anticipated taking two to three years to achieve! Plus they had additional funds to purchase brand new ukuleles for the music classroom.

Another feature of note that Bill attributes to raising more funds than ever before, is MyBooster’s corporate matching option.

“We didn’t see, when we were shopping around, any other platforms that offered the idea of a corporate match, much less how simple it is,” said Bill. “You click on it and then it gives you specific instructions for how to do the corporate match, which 100% goes to the school.”

Because the school’s annual fun run now brings in so much of the funds the school needs to achieve its goals, the PTA does not need to ask parents repeatedly throughout the year to donate. This was one of Bill’s main missions as PTA president, to take as much of the financial burden as possible off of the parents.

Megan, mom of four kids, began volunteering when her now 12-year-old twins were in kindergarten. She was new to the area and hoping to meet other families. The PTO put out a general invite to join them to pop some popcorn and as Megan puts it, “the rest is history.”

While she was forming her friendships with parents, her twins were making their own friends at school. This is when she recognized a need for a more inclusive playground for the school. Her son’s best friend is in a wheelchair, and she felt there should be more ways for him to play with his peers at recess.

Megan has an accounting degree and works from home as a human resource manager. She used her professional experience to start raising funds for the project. There was some doubt in the beginning, but Megan pushed forward, involving the school board, local businesses and the entire community. She brought everyone together, and they all collectively worked to make the project a reality.

After five years of hard work and fundraising, the inclusive playground is now completed. Megan personally picked out every structure! And children of all abilities can be seen laughing and playing together each day. While Megan’s son and his best friend are now in middle school and don’t use the playground at recess, they do visit it after school when it’s open to the entire community.

Megan’s favorite part about bringing the playground to the elementary school is seeing students enjoy it. She loves hearing “how cool” all the special features are from the kids. Most of them don’t even know she was involved in this project!

When Megan isn’t dedicating her time to the PTO, she is spending time with her children. She loves being involved in whatever they are involved in. When one of her kids decided to play soccer, she coached. It didn’t matter that she didn’t know anything about the sport! And she will keep getting involved, her kids love having her there. Megan’s ultimate goal is to live every moment making her childrens’ experiences the best she can.

Megan likes to spend her free crafting and hanging out with all the amazing friends she has made through volunteering. The reason she originally got involved was to make connections, and seven years later, she considers them one big family. This is why she encourages moms (and dads!) to get involved. It’s a great way to meet new people and form real friendships. It’s also an excellent way to stay connected with your child’s school. You develop relationships with the teachers and administrators as well!

The school’s PTO president and Megan’s nominator, Rachel Alioto, announced and celebrated her Volly win at the beginning of one of their PTO meetings. Rachel nominated Megan not only because she brought the inclusive playground to her school, but because she always goes above and beyond with her fundraising efforts. Along with the recognition, Megan received 50 free custom shirts, a $150 gift card and some Booster swag!

Now the president of the PTO at Dual Language Immersion North County, April began volunteering as a room mom when her son was in kindergarten. April loved she could spend time with her son while he was at school, chaperoning field trips and helping out in the classroom. Then COVID hit and there was a pause on these types of opportunities.

When schools returned to some sort of normalcy after the pandemic, April stepped up to the plate to help build back up the PTO as Vice President. Shortly after, health issues with the current President pushed April into the lead role. The following school year, she ran for President and was officially elected.

Since taking on this role, April says she strives to make PTO events as exciting as they can be for the kids, adding that little something extra to their school day. For example, she took the existing 100th day of school event that consisted of a small project for kindergartners and turned it into a whole school experience complete with a cake, signs and a 100-yard dash. Her favorite part about volunteering? Seeing all of the students smile when she makes these types of events a reality—including her own son!

As PTO President, April also brought Booster to her school system. For the first time, her school used MyBooster to take its fundraising efforts online and reach donors all over the world for a Jog-a-Thon. In previous years this fundraiser typically brought in about $5,000 for the PTO. With MyBooster, the school raised a whopping $23,000! These funds were used for transportation to multiple field trips, which families had to pay out-of-pocket for previously, two movie nights, a trunk-or-treat, a teacher stipend and prizes for assemblies.

While April may be running the school PTO by day, she also works overnight shifts as a Nurse Practitioner at the local children’s hospital. Along with spending time at the hospital helping newborn babies and families, April uses the knowledge she has gained in her profession to teach those aspiring to join the nursing industry as a professor at the local college.

It may not seem like April has any time to spare, but her family is always a top priority. When not at the school, the hospital or college, April can be found hanging out with her husband and son and their furry sidekick, a white lab that is her son’s best friend. They also enjoy traveling together as a family.

This well-deserved Volly Award was presented to April at a school-wide assembly, celebrating her hard work. As part of the award, April also won 50 free custom shirts, a $150 gift card and some fun Booster swag.

While it was an honor to be recognized in front of all of the students and staff, the most rewarding part of the experience was just how excited one student in particular was about her receiving the award—April’s son and the reason she began volunteering in the first place.
